The new water heater is in and hot water is back in da house. Yay! You forget how spoiled you are until the hot water disappears. We live in a blessed age. Aside from being happy not to shower at the gym, I am now running on the treadmill, at an incline, for a half hour at a time, today at 15 minute miles. Baby steps! Baby steps! I am trying to be good. If a couple more weeks of the uphill thing go well, I will then be including flats, and then eventually the downhill. I am also cutting my physical therapy back to once a week instead of two; partly because we want to see how my body takes it and partly because I used up all my available insurance. Meanwhile, I do daily core strengthening and stretching and have started a martial arts class which kicks my butt in ways it hasn't been kicked in a long time. It took about 4 days to un-sore myself from last week's workout.
The real key is to take things easy and gradually work myself up to strength, which as you probably know is dang hard when your feet are strapped in your favorite trail shoes and you are outside at a race where I will be this Saturday. If any of you see me running when I shouldn't, give me a dirty look ok? Uphills only uphills only uphills only......

Congrats on the new water heater and with the progress on your fitness. Not so much on your using all your insurance, but that is what it's there for...
I will look for you out on the trails on Saturday. I too am trying to force myself to take it easy as I need to finish all my extra miles and not overly-race the 50k part in the middle.
